New Year's Goals- Start Over
It's time to start over. I don't mean re-create my 2010 goals. There was a lot of thought and prayer in creating them and they are still relevant to my path in career and personal growth. January was overwhelming with deadlines and family events. I need to start over in February and adjust my schedule to provide more time & energy in reaching my goals. It's a new month and a new chance to make progress.

Spring/Summer is on the way
Yesterday was so much fun checking out the new spring/summer line from Thirty-One Gifts. My catalogs arrived and I can't wait to share them. A few of my favorite items will be retired and the new items will become my new must-haves. I love this company!

Children with Cancer
It's been a difficult week and I feel selfish at times working on my goals related to business and personal growth. My cousin's two year old son has just been diagnosed with cancer. It's the kind of news that stops a mother in her tracks, makes her hug her children close and hold on tight.
I'm so thankful for the Internet for easy access to research material and for moral support links through sites like CaringBridge. It's uplifting to read the journals and caring comments from others who have experienced similar situations or want to offer support. Please say a prayer for my cousin and her family and for all families who have had a child diagnosed with cancer.

Goal Setting Update
I've spent the last few days defining my 2010 goals. It's been more difficult than I expected getting from wishful thinking to an action plan. There are so many resources available. I subscribed recently to a 5 day e-coaching plan, downloaded a "Jumpstart your business in 7 days" exercise and reviewed the planning guide in my paper planner system. Each of the exercises were helpful in defining what I want, why I want it and where I want to be. They were very thought provoking and enlightening. The goal worksheet was the part that just didn't seem to fit with my style of writing goals and an action plan. It created frustration and confusion on what should be in the statements. I like what I have written down in my brainstorming notebook. It doesn't follow the format that came with my planner or with the resources I've recently found but it still incorporates the affirmations and values that define the reason for having the goal. The next step is to review what has been written, revise if needed and then publish my goals. How are you doing on defining your 2010 goals?

2010 Goals Setting
2009 had some great moments. I'm a goal setter but don't always accomplish what I set out to do because I let the busy less important work take over instead of delegating, deleting or delaying what can be done later.
2010 is the year I will be organized and focus on achieving my goals related to being an independent consultant with a direct selling company called Thirty-One Gifts. I've joined a group called Moms United in Business (MUIB). Their focus in January is blogging. Here's my first post. It was pretty easy with MUIB resources. I can't wait to find out more about blogging and how I can use it to meet my goals.
Happy New Year!
